7 Questions – The Musicians Series: Angelica Ross

Musicians have a unique & powerful role in our culture, and one remarkably capable of transcending gender.  They can share their truth from stages across the world, or whisper them into the ears of a single listener in need, as long as their work speaks in some way to those who would listen, no matter who, where or what they are.  There are only a few openly trans musicians, but they are precious, and over the next few months we’ll be featuring their 7 Questions videos.

Angelica Ross, or Miss Ross to those who know better, is one of those rare performers who comes off as both cool and warm.  Her beauty, in itself so striking, is met with a rare poise and grace, lending her an almost otherworldly air. Yet her easy smile and contagious joy are clearly rooted in the same source as her rich voice and tender songs. She’s an angel serving you a cup of warm tea.

Hear more of Angelica’s music here, and look for this multi-talented singer, songwriter, model, entrepreneur, and actress in the lead role in the forthcoming film The Heart of a Woman.  I’m proud to call her my friend, and thrilled to finally have her on We Happy Trans. Enjoy.

Want more? Of course you.  One of my personal favorites:

Good luck to you, Miss Ross! Love the comparison between male/female & Christianity/Buddhism. It sounds like your voice is already a part of the ‘conversation.’

You’ve got to love a woman who knows who she is, where she is, and where she’s going. I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Ross and she is as beautiful, vibrant, and flawless in person as she is in her videos ;)

Noah, I just saw your comment, and also saw that it was on MY BIRTHDAY! How sweet are you! I am in a place in my life where I can also accept a compliment (something I oddly couldn’t do before), but your comment makes me smile because this is what I feel. I feel I know who I am, where I’m at, and where I’m going, and I’m am focused like a laser beam on it. It was awesome meeting both you and Ryder and I know that we all will continue to turn this world on it’s side ;-)
