Ari Akerblom was the first young, truly joyful and unrepentantly unique trans person I met. In the forum we both haunted, she was considered trouble, but I quickly came to see the ferocious authenticity and sharp mind informing the seeming outrageousness. When I get too caught up in doing the proper thing, her very presence reminds me to also honor my own desires. Thanks Ari.
